Combustion characteristics of electrically controlled solid propellants using polymer electrolytes

چکیده

An experimental study was conducted on electrically controlled solid propellants to gain an understanding the effect of applied DC voltage combustion characteristics. A group polymer electrolytes comprising polyethylene oxide, lithium perchlorate, and ammonium perchlorate were created their behavior characterized. The electrolyte found decompose ignite readily with application a potential. decomposition always initiate at negatively charged cathode, which resulted in liquid zone. Ignition occur once grew large enough that it made contact anode. Due requirement zone must grow from cathode anode, spacing between electrodes greatly effects time achieve ignition. It also could be throttled by changing potential terminated removal under atmospheric conditions. electrochemical mechanism proposed differs conventional thermal mechanisms. compositions had considerable rate morphology.

Characterization of Lithium-based Solid Polymer Electrolytes

Sol-gel derived poly(oxyethylene)/siloxane hybrids doped with lithium hexafluoroantimonate, LiSbF6, have been prepared. Compositions of these novel xerogel electrolytes were identified using the conventional d-U(2000)nLiSbF6 notation, (where n is the molar ratio of oxyethylene moieties per Li + ion) and samples with n between ∞ and 2.5 were characterized by conductivity measurements, cyclic vol...

Low Acid Producing Solid Propellants

The potential environmental effects of the exhaust products of conventional rocket propellants have been assessed by various groups. Areas of concern have included stratospheric ozone, acid rain, toxicity, air quality and global warming. Some of the studies which have been performed on this subject have concluded that while the impacts of rocket use are extremely small, there are propellant dev...

Analytical Solution for Pressure-Coupled Combustion Response Functions of Composite Solid Propellants

This paper extends the classical analytical solution for small perturbation analysis of the pressure-coupled response of a homogeneous propellant to any two-component composite propellant. The solution obtained is general and can be used with any particular model for propellant combustion. As an example, the Cohen and Strand ammoniumperchlorate propellantmodel for a single ammoniumperchlorate p...
